We will hear the story of the first Palm Sunday — a protest against the power of empire. As we wave our palms and sing our Hosannas, we will remember that we, too, are called to resist the powers of empire today — the powers represented by greed, oppression, and violence. Instead, we welcome and worship Jesus, the Prince of Peace, whose power is rooted in love, justice, and compassion.
