Paying Attention
The reflection by Rev. Jeanne Randall-Bodman presented on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
“In the spirit-formed community of the church, we are invited to pay attention to one another’s lives. Church is a school for paying attention to all the cultural forces that bear down on one another. And then, the cultural forces that bear down on our neighbors and on our world.
I wonder who might be just outside our church door, waiting and longing to be understood, longing to hear us speak in a dialect that makes them feel at home. Longing to be listened to and welcomed in that dialect. Together, let us pray for the humility and courage to risk for the sake of love, to be foolish for the sake of relating, to let other people’s reality be real, to harmonize.”
